The urban hub of Singapore provides the focus for a broader reflection on prospective tools for dense urban fields in this AA Visiting School workshop, which is now in its fourth successive year. This year’s agenda, ‘Designed Geographies’, develops cross-referenced layers of urban conditions to produce ramified readings of the city. The workshop investigates experimental ways of observing the city, informed by an introduction to contemporary methods of physical and digital mapping, modelling and advanced design processes and research. Architectural ecology is placed within a larger context of environmental and artificial geographies conceived as part of a systemic approach to urban growth...
